15 Years Ago, Grandfather Bets That Grandson Would Play For Wales. Wins £125,000.

Harry Wilson debut with Football Association of Wales

On Tuesday, 16 year-old Harry Wilson made his international soccer debut for Wales and became the youngest player to play for the team. More importantly, Peter Edwards, Harry’s grandfather, netted a cool £125,000 ($200,000) from a bet he placed 15 years earlier that his grandson would play for Wales. Mr. Edwards was quoted odds of 2,500/1 when he placed his £50 bet on his 18-month old grandson and with his winnings, he is now set to retire a year earlier than originally planned. Next career? Advanced Advanced Early Childhood Scout. [BBC via Deadspin]
