San Quentin Prison Baseball Team – The San Quentin Giants. [Video]

YouTube: San Quentin’s Giants | Op-Docs | The New York Times

Cool little documentary about baseball being played behind prison walls. In this case, it’s San Quentin and the team is the San Quentin Giants. One line they may want to edit out of the doc happens at the 5:10 mark when one of the SQ Giant’s players says:

“I mean, if it wasn’t for sports, who knows what I’d be going through right now.”

That’s coming from a guy in San Quentin prison. Anyway, it’s a great short doc about how sports can cross lines that normally separate groups of people – even in prison. [TWBE]
